First Aid Update

 Following the recent changes to the Resuscitation Guidelines- there are now some significant changes to First Aid training requirements on the way- the Health and Safety Executive who oversee First Aid in training in the Workplace feel that three years is too long between first aid courses to be able to remember and perform the techniques effectively.

  Do I need a First Aider or an Appointed Person?

The HSE issues guidance for First Aid provision. The number of first aiders and /or appointed persons required for your business depends on the level of risk and number of employees on each site, below are their recommendations. First Aiders must have a current and valid certificate from an HSE Approved Training Centre- which should be renewed every 3 yrs. It is recommended that Appointed persons undertake a one day Emergency First Aid Certificate.

Emergency First Aid(6hr) £40 (ex vat)

First Aid For Babies and Children(12 hr meets OFSTED requirements) £70(ex vat)
